Description Renault Alpine A310 1979
In 1971 the French Alpine introduced the A310 with the four-cylinder engine. Because it was too weak to function as a sports car, they designed the 2700CC V6 PRV (from the collaboration Peugeot, Renault and Volvo) in 1976. This delivered 150HP and gave the car a top speed of 220KM pu.
With this design of the Alpine, they aimed somewhat at the Porsche 911 audience in terms of similar characteristics to the rear engine. The basis is a tubular steel frame with a polyether body on top, which is made entirely from one piece. The sale subsequently became a great success. Twice as many cars left the factory than before with the four-cylinder. The new version made it a full-fledged sports car.
The Renault Alpine that we offer here has been completely body-off restored. The body has been removed from the frame and the frame has been completely blasted and coated. The body was then glued back onto the frame by an Alpine specialist. The body has been stripped of all paint and provided with a professionally applied new layer of paint. The seats and rear seats have been reupholstered with beautiful black leather. The dashboard, headliner and windows are neat and original. All conceivable rubbers have been renewed and no technical savings have been made. Everything about this Alpine has been renewed. A completely overhauled engine and gearbox have been installed, and it has been decided to immediately use a five-speed gearbox. The original matching engine and gearbox are also present. The car is on adjustable shock absorbers. It is obvious that this car belonged to a great enthusiast.
