Description Datsun 240Z coupé 1972
The Datsun 240Z and later the 260Z and 280Z were manufactured between 1969 and 1978. It was the first generation of the Z GT two-seat coupe produced by Nissan Motors. The model was designed by a team led by Yoshihiko Matsuo, head of Nissan's Sports Car Styling Studio. The team managed to produce a car - for a favorable price - that could compete with the major brands of sports cars. The 2.4 6-cylinder produced 150HP and showed resounding figures in performance. The top speed of over 200 km and in 8 seconds to 100 km per hour, that was quite impressive. For this time, this model is still a spirited sports car with its independent suspension and disc brakes at the front. For the enthusiast, every ride gives a grin from ear to ear.
The Datsun was not only a commercial success, but also a major contender in racing, both in the cup races and in the World Rally. The 240Z also proved to be a winner in long-distance events. For example, in 1971, 72 and 73, the car dominated the Safari Rally.
This Datsun was originally delivered in the Netherlands and has remained there throughout its life. That is special because almost all these models still available come from America, because of the very successful sales there at the time.
This example was originally delivered in avocado leaf green metallic and was repainted once in the original colour. The paint is really beautiful as are the Chrome bumpers and the polished original alloy wheels (including the spare wheel). The black interior is original and very neat. Entirely in accordance with the 1972 standard, it is still a two-seater coupé with the shorter wheelbase. This Datsun also features the rare Duck-tale on the tailgate.
